The new winter season of Club meetings opens on Friday 26th October 2012 with the President’s Address.
Please check the Local Events Page on Clyde Maritime where you will find the Syllabus for the forthcoming season of meetings.
The West Highland Steamer Club was founded in 1967 as an enthusiast group for those interested in the ships and services of David MacBrayne, an interest which still holds true today. Today, its main focus is on the ships and services of Caledonian MacBrayne, and its predecessors, among the Western Isles and West Coast of Scotland.
The Club is offering a £10.00 subscription to new members for the first year of membership and £17.00 (2012-2013 rate) thereafter, which entitles the member to the full facilities of the Club, including copies of the Journal, which is produced twice a year around April and October. The Journal offers a comprehensive account of ship movements and news over the six months prior to publication. Members will have the opportunity to purchase photographs published in the Journal.
Should you wish to join the Club, then please contact me at the email address below.
This year, for the first time, the Club is publishing a calendar together with the Clyde River Steamer Club. The calendar is priced at £9.00 if purchased at Club meetings or £10.00 if purchased by post.
All meetings, which are held on the last Friday of the month apart from December, March and April, take place in the Renfield St Stephens Church Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow, round the corner from Charing Cross Station commencing at 19.30.
Members are welcome to bring friends to the meetings.
Duncan Wilson,WHSC Club Secretary.
