SCOTSMAN (5) (1929 – 1972)
O.N. 160826. 222g. 1n. 100.0 x 25.1 x 12.3 feet.
T.3-cyl. (14½”, 24” & 40” x 27”) engine by Earle’s Shipbuilding and Engineering Company Ltd., Hull. 89nhp. 850ihp.
Post 1964: 12-cyl. 4 S.C.S.A. (9¾” x 10½”) engine made in 1954 by Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day Ltd., Stockport. 1,122bhp.
26.1.1929: Launched by Cochrane & Sons Ltd., Selby (Yard No. 1040) for the United Towing Company Ltd., Hull.
3.1929: Completed.
1964: Re-engined, 199g.
21.1.1970: Owners restyled as United Towing Ltd.
1972: Sold to Albert Draper & Sons Ltd., Hull for demolition.
