Well, it seems that after WW2, the tug re-entered service in Belgium still under the name SERVITOR. Perhaps until the 1947 refit.

This photo shows her and another tug towing the Belgian STAVELOT, which places it in 1946-1955. Is the location recognisable? I assuming probably Antwerp. Also note that the funnel appears to be black with a broad coloured band (probably red), rather than the Letzer colours.

What do you make of this? I bought the photo recently - it is 10.5x7.3cm and a superb print mounted on card - nothing written on the back of the card or the print itself.

Hi David,
Thanks for the very nice photo's indeed! It looks to me it is taken in Antwerpen in the entrance to the old "Kattendijk" lock. Also according to the industrial area of Zwijndrecht at the other side of the river.

Once I was in Antwerpen on board HEMIKSEM, Leopold Wijnen told me that the CAPT. sailed in Antwerpen for a couple of years named SERVITOR as she came back from Britain, but I never saw a picture of her in that state. Until now!!!

That's excellent, Henk, to have Leopold's info.
This would be in the short period before the 1947 upgrading.
