My guess is that the ALTAGNA is for the Entreprise de Remorquage, Assistance, Sauvetage Maritime (Erasme Sarl.), Bastia. At the moment they have the little former Bordeaux Voith RABLÉ, and certainly are involved with assisting passenger vessels as well as tankers in Bastia. Suspect that with larger passenger ferries and cruise ships serving Corsica they are upgrading.

Port of registry is confirmed as Bastia, and "Altagna" is a female eagle in Corsican.

Time will tell.

So far so good for Bastia - passing Straits of Gibraltar now.

Incidentally, Lawrence Amboldt tells me that Erasme in Bastia sold the RABLÉ in 2009 to a cooperative of Bastia boatmen, so ALTAGNA may be for them instead.
