Stark, atmospheric pictures Dougie –

You state in your email update:-
Last year she completed a successful deployment to the Caribbean where £77 million worth of drugs were seized with her assistance.
Earlier this year she tracked a Russian frigate off the coast of France and monitored her movement through the English Channel.
HMS Argyll, a Type 23 frigate fitted with advanced Artisan radar, used her Lynx helicopter and sensors to locate and monitor the movement of the Russian warship as she returned from a Mediterranean deployment.”

Prime examples of what goes on in the world, totally unknown to the vast majority of the public, yet it is done for the well-being and safety thereof.

Occasionally we get the opportunity to view some of these ships, usually only when they “come home” or, as in this case, “pop in for a service”.

Unless directly involved, we cannot appreciate the diversity, excitement or danger associated with serving on these vessels – hats off and “thank you” to all those who have chosen to follow this career.
