12/1914 evacuated to Ipswich
11/12/1915-24/1/1918 on Admiralty (Royal Navy) service at Chatham as DESIRE (mng C W Kellock & Co, London)
24/1/1918 shelled and sunk by German submarine UB 34 [not U 34], 2½nm NE of Filey, Yorkshire in 54.57N 00.35W (Chatham for Rosyth, towing 160t lighters X6 and X110, which sunk with bombs)
