REDDER I/II/III/IV

Post by davidships » Sat Dec 15, 2012 1:26 pm

On SARH's headed paper in use 12/1914, as well as all the tugs and their horsepowers are also listed four "salvage appliances" REDDER I/II/III/IV, but with no additional details.

In 10/1915 C W Kellock & Co (the UK agents for SARH) offered "salvage boat" REDDER IV for charter to the British Government - 30 x 8m - available at Dordrecht. No mention of the other three or of any positive response.

Revisiting some files in the National Archives, I found a part-copy of an SARH supplement in the Antwerp journal "Neptune" of 7/3/1914. It includes two photos of REDDER 4 (IV) (I have pasted on the key), and an article, in French, giving more description.
