Single screw, T3cyl by shipbuilder, oil fired, 1004ihp

30/5/1942 completed and then managed by Pedder and Mylchreest Ltd London for the Ministry of War Transport on Naval Duties
September 1942 employed on Port Duties for the South Atlantic Command
16/11/1942 Port Duties with the West African Command
5/11/1945 W.D Tamlyn and Co Ltd, Plymouth appointed Managers
31/3/1947 allocated to the Admiralty and renamed MASTERFUL
1957 put up for sale at Devonport
19/9/1958 sold to Imprese Maritime Augustea S.p.A, Italy and renamed SANANTONIO PRIMO
1967 sold to Alfredo Balbi, Italy
1968 sold to Societa Rimorchiatori Napoletani, Italy
1980 sold to Palermo Salvatore e Cia, S.N.C, Naples for BU

Woody,

What is your source for the line drawing. It appears slightly at odds with that included in the book EMPIRE TUGS in so much that it shows a forward mounted gun.

I have a photograph of sister EMPIRE MEAD at the end of the war and there was no gun emplacement visible nor evidence where it would have been.

I thought it was the same but I will check with my source
Some of thses drawings are design drawings are are not necessarily as fitted
