HMS Nimble
Tug, Nimble Class - W.123
Laid down 4/6/1941 and launched by Fleming & Ferguson Paisley, Yard No 578, on 4/12/1941. Sold June 1973 to Hong Huat Shipbreaking Industries for demolition at Jurong
1190 disp, 832grt
175 ft x 36 ft x 14 feet
Twin screw, Steam triple expansion, 2 boilers, oil, 3500ihp giving 16 knots
30 tons bollard pull and spring towing hooks. Designed for sea towing, salvage and harbour work
1 x 3in AA and 2 x 20mm AA guns
Crew 42

Completed 6/4/1942
Allocated to Gibraltar to replace St Omar
12/7/1960 returned to Portsmouth, under tow by Bustler, and then refitted at Chatham
May 1962 left Chatham for Singapore
10/4/1970 reduced to Reserve
5/6/1971 transferred to Singapore Government and then the Sembawang Towing Company, Singapore

Tenders are invited from interested parties for the purchase of the second hand tug Nimble, ''As is Where is''.
3,000 hp triple expansion, twin screw built in 1942 of 831.8 grt.

Also 3 smaller tugs 220hp built 1944-45 of 86.9 grt, TID 144, TID 145 and TID 149.

Advertised by Sembawang Towing Co (PTE) Ltd Singapore late Jan 1972, view 9 Feb, tender close date 18 Feb 1972.

In Feb 1973 the steam tug Fidget was offered for sale by tender
