Fishing vessels

Post by Henk » Tue Dec 14, 2010 3:11 pm

During World War II 25 fishing vessels where put into the Hurtigrute for transportation of goods, post etc. except passengers. From those vessels I only could found some details of 15, and 10 I only know the name.
Those vessels were:

SKANDFER
POLARFJELL
MIL 33
MAIBLOMSTEN
BLÅSEL
WELCOME
VAALAND
YNGVARD
MORILD I
GRINNØY
ETHEL MAY
TRYGG I
ÅSE
HEIMDAL II
MODER II
ANGLE I
HELL
JANA
NORDLYS III
MØLLERGUTTEN
HAVNES
RINGØY
HANSNES
ULØY
QUEEN

If members would like to know the details I found, let me know and I can place it, but it is very minimum to be honoust.

I think if you delve deeper you might find there were about twice that Number Henk.

Certainly GRINNOY and ULOY were Coaster's not fishing vessels but that's all I know about them.

I would just like to say how much I've enjoyed delving into the History of the Hurtigruten again, its been great..............

THANKS!!
Paul Hood.
