Extreme Kite Flying

Post by Vegaskip » Sun May 15, 2016 4:25 pm

Commonly known as the 'Gibson Girl' (in fact the radio only).
The system was for downed aviators. A hand cranked radio sent an automatic distress signal, the aerial being held aloft by a box kite or balloon (supplied with a Hydrogen Generator)
I remember flying one of these when I was a boy, it belonged to a pal, and great fun was had by all.

Thank you Colin, my pleasure. I think I'm getting better. Practice makes perfect, still a lot of practicing to do.
