A merry Christmas and a good New Year to all on the site, I have attached a painting of the British Oak on which I spent my first Christmas away from home. - I found this picture on a web site but there were no details of the artist - possibly R D Morris?

Well another years work finally done and just time to draw breath before its Christmas Day. Its many years since I have had to work through the Christmas / New Year holiday and thankfully I won't have to this year either but I am consious that many folk have to. Also I remember during my earliest Christmases, half a century ago now, Christmas was not a holiday in Scotland and my Dad worked on the morning of Christmas Day. My mum had a job keeping me from opening all my presents before Dad got home from work. After all he had worked many long hard hours to get them for me. We don't realise how easy we have it these days.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas to all on the Clyde Maritime site. 2011will present many new challenges. I wish you all a peaceful, happy and healthy New Year when it comes. Dad is celebrating his 85th Christmas and also sends his greetings to all The picture below captures him at a 'Cameron Cousins' do - he is not on of the cousins but is now the sole representative of the previous generation - so very much the guest of honour. The chap with him is Stuart Cameron - not me of course but my London cousin, born and bred within the sound of the bell's of the Bow Church in the East End of London and, therefore, a true Cockney lad, and Chelsea supporter. The other pics is some more of the Cameron Cousins - by no means all as we are a well spread bunch and its impossible to get us all together at one time
