Last night I watched the 1943 Film of George Blake's 1935 novel, The Shipbuilders. This was on the Talking Pictures TV Channel and it is likely to be repeated over the next few weeks. Like the famous novel it tells the story of a fictitious Glasgow Shipyard of the 1930's and how it was saved from almost inevitable closure. There are some good shots of Glasgow Yards and I thoroughly recommend it. Blake, a native of Greenock was also the major scriptwriter of the "Floodtide" film of 1949 which is centered on Brown's Yard in Clydebank.
Best wishes to all, Iain Nevill

Thanks for this Iain -
Had a look at my Freeview, didn't have Channel 81, did an update - Eureka! there it was. Will be keeping a look-out for this film.
Cheers
