John/ Iain Forsyth

Post by Deepol » Thu Feb 02, 2017 2:37 pm

I am very sorry to have to say that John or Iain as we all really knew him as passed away in hospital on Monday 30th. He had gone in at the weekend for what was thought to be a short stay but things seem to have taken a bad turn and he passed away.
A great character he was a formidable supporter of these Forums and will be a great miss.
He was always willing to lend out his photos and there are a lot on the Clyde Built Ships Database.
This is his which he was only to pleased to let me have of my all time favourite Glenfalloch outbound from Grangemouth in 1976.

Very sorry to hear that, Paul. As you say , he was very supportive of the sites and was a doughty proponent of things he felt were important.
