UPDATE: PLANNED SITE MAINTENANCE - Friday 20/8/10
Post by mcmahos » Tue Aug 17, 2010 11:56 pm
I'm hoping to do some planned maintenance on the forum on Friday evening. The site may be unavailable for a short period whilst I rivet some new panels on to it.
If all goes to plan (of which there is a high probability that it won't!) there will be a new front page to the site which will then have a link going off to the forum and other exciting features!
Full details will be given once the upgrade is complete.

I notice that although clicking on a photo to bring the full size image usually opens it in the same window, sometimes it comes up in a new window. But there doesn't seem to be any consistence across individual boards. I do find it a b it frustrating in returning to the message not remembering which it was.
Can it be standardised?

Good luck, Ardrussanite, you're doing a grand job - does this get you out of the dishes and ironing then ?

David,
Its to do with the way the pictures are added to the site.
If you load a Picture as an 'Attatchment' clicking on the picture opens it up 'Within' the site.
However if you load VIA "Photobucket" or one of the other systems, clicking on the Picture open's it up in a 'New' Window OUTSIDE the site.
Simple soul's like me use attatchments!! which means we have to resize pictures, however all the Gib. Pictures arrive via Photobucket and can be posted at any size. One day I might find out how this works!!

The intention is that http://www.clydemaritime.co.uk will actually go to a new front page which has links to Clyde Shipping Arrivals and Departures, plus an AIS map; there will be a reference section (which will be a work in progress area), an online shop, and of course a link to the Forum. There will be a new sub-address for the forum, namely http://forum.clydemaritime.co.uk if you wish to access it directly. (And before anyone tries it now, it won't work!)
As I said before - that's the plan; but plans can be subject to change!

You are still seeing the original site for now. Everything is in place on the server, but I'm hitting problems with getting a subdomain recognised. It might be down to waiting on a DNS address propagating, so the forum is back online for a while till I see if that is the case.
It's liable to go down again though either late tonight or sometime tomorrow.
