Have just seen news from the Bideford Harbour Master and Pilot that the above vessel is due to leaving the building shed at Appledore on the 23rd November H.W. !8.15 hrs to dark for photies however will be on hand whilst fitting out to keep you supplied with photies :evil:

Pilot has confirmed vessel will be leaving dock pm Sunday 23rd tug Willanna will be in attendance she arrived Tuesday. :lol: .

Couple of shots first one take 6 hrs prior launch dock gates open to flood the dock. Second one alongside fitting out berth this morning.

Latest news today from Capt Hoad the Harbour Master vessel sailing on here ist sea trials on the 5th March for 5 days and is due to be handed over and sail for her home port on the 18th at 16.45 hrs should still have daylight to get photies. will keep advised.

Have just seen the above vessel crossing the Bideford Bar enroute for the Channel for her first sea trials due to return to Appledore on Monday 9th.

Understand from Pilot Harbour Master vessel not sailing until early April hopefull daylight tide.

Latest news regarding vessel she is due to go on further sea trials over May Bank Holiday period hopefully they have cured the propeller problems. :?

It still looking as if the vessel will proceed on further trial 4/5th May will them proceed to her home base. Latest photies taken yesterday.

Have not posted any news as information has been sparse however the ship sailed this morning at 06.10 hrs for 24 hrs trials in the Bristol Channel if everything ok the shipyard personel will be landed to the Lundy Puffin and the ship will sail for her home base Cork.

Vessel had to return to the shipyard yesterday evening the original problems had been resolved however another one occured which will take 5 days to rectify vessel will now sail on the am tide 1st July.

Ships sailed from Appledore on the 15th July and completed trial late in the evening and was handed over to the Irish Navy and ship sailed for Cork where she arrived on Friday 17th. The next ship due to be lauch later this year understand will be named W.T. Bates

Now James Joyce has joined the Irish active fleet, the name of the 3rd, and final, of the class is...

LÉ William Butler Yeats, construction in the shed is well advanced, delivery due July 2016.

If you do NOT recognise his pen name, this is W. B. Yeats and seems to be causing some ructions.
Wonder WHY. Frankly i have no idea. Ho Hum. Long before my time. All our time in fact.

Over to you Norman for further developments, maybe a new thread in due course once int 'oggin.
