Dredging schedule upper Clyde

Post by RenfrewPaul » Sat May 04, 2019 12:12 pm

I'm making a wee film on the Renfrew shipyards, Lobnitz and Simons (and Lobnitz and Simons) who specialised in engineering ships such as dredgers.

Does anybody know the schedule for dredging the upper Clyde this year? It would be really good to capture a modern dredger at work.

I used to live at Ferry Village in Renfrew and could see the clyde from my back window so had a better idea of comings and goings, if anybody knows when dredging will take place, and the allocated vessel that would be really appreciated.

No 44/19

Mariners are advised that dredging works are scheduled to take place from Tuesday 14th May for a period of approximately 4 weeks in the areas indicated on the chart extract below. In addition, the dredgers will be working at BAE Govan and Scotstoun.

The vessels involved will be the TSHD Freeway and MV Norma.
