The Maid was slipped today at Balloch with a good crowd in attendance, unfortunately it was unsuccessful as there was a problem with the carrier cradle and she rolled back down the slipway into the water. She is now back at her original berth. :(

My understanding of the matter is that the problem wasn't with the cradle, it was the cable pulling the cradle that snapped.
The cradle is now lying somewhere on the bed of the loch.

Firstly, pleased to see none of the personnel were injured in the incident -

Secondly, I would assume the Maid of the Loch wanted back to her natural environment.....

The Maid is coming along nicely, she was supplied by steam from a shoreside Byworth Boiler this weekend and the engine and paddles were seen turning.

Some images are poor due to the steam in ER and camera lens steaming up, that's my excuse anyway.
