Can anybody explain why this is moving a short distance on a barge rather than being towed down? Thanks.

Craig.

This morning, on the barge DINA LAUNCHER and ready to go down to Scotstoun.
Parked in Meadow Road in Partick and "shocked" to see street all painted up with parking bays.
Worse stiil a Parking Meter right in the middle of the pitch on the 'Red Side' where as lads we played Headers. Progress.??

BAE no longer conduct dynamic launches. The ship will be taken to KGV, floated off the barge and will then be towed down to Scotstoun on Thursday and will be drydocked through the night

Tugs CMS WARRIOR and BRUISER currently passing Dumbarton Rock on their way up-river, presumably to assist moving HMS MEDWAY from KGV Dock down to BAE Systems' Scotstoun yard?

Would appear the first task was to return the (now empty) barge to BAE Systems Govan yard, now completed – the two tugs are currently at the far end of KGV, presumably setting up the tow of HMS MEDWAY.

Hmmm….. BATTLER and BRUISER now departed, heading down-river passing the Renfrew Ferry both doing around 10 knots. CMS WARRIOR has remained in KGV, and now appears to be assisting NACC POROS depart KGV.

Looks like it’s “Mission Accomplished” – at last…….

BRUISER and BATTLER had a midnight outing last night – looking at their previous tracks this morning, there are indications of activity in KGV Dock around 0130hrs BST, then further manoeuvres in the river at BAE Systems’ Scotstoun yard around 0200hrs BST.

From this, is it a fair assumption that HMS MEDWAY is now at Scotstoun?
