Yes Brian, watching her for the past three years or so at DRB yard I never thought for one minute she would get a new lease of life. long may she continue.

Great to see her being re-commissioned - I think the red suits her lines nicely - makes her look longer!!

The only things I would've liked to see (but not viable on cost) :
1. Shot blast the hull and repaint - the current job looks OK from a distance but the condition of the steel is all too obvious close up. I gather she required some re-plating below the waterline. Not too bad for a hull that's 38yrs old.
2. Remove her former name from the bow - they're welded on letters but surely a grinder would've done the trick. Then paint on the new name!! You can still see SATURN very clearly - looks a bit like what they do to ships when they are renamed for the final journey to the breakers!!

Sounds pedantic? Maybe but don't get me wrong - I'm glad to see her avoiding the cutting torch unlike her two older quasi-sisters.

I'm heading to Orkney for a long weekend in June so I think a wee trip over to St Margaret's Hope may be in order!

She was out on sea trials today at lunchtime. Sounds like she is close to departure for her new home turf.
