Split-Hopper-Barge B303, owned by Baars of Sliedrecht, Netherlands. Be interesting to learn what she is over here for.

Built in 2011

Length Overall : 43.84 metres
Beam : 8.00 metres
Depth : 2.82 metres

Load capacity : 637 tonnes

Volume of Hopper Hold : 335 m3

Not sure what the arrangement is for 'opening' her up when they want to split her, assumed to be some form of hydraulic arrangement as it would require some considerable power.

Hi Angus and Brian,

There are 2 split hopper barges on the river just now, both belong to Baars and both were recently slipped at Ardmaleish after arriving. They will be towed upriver towards the end of next week where they will taking spoil downriver from The River Cart Westway berth at Babcocks.
