Some photos unearthed of the then new signalbox opened at the top of the incline from Queen Street station in the late 1950s. I don't have any photos of the outside but there are some here:

The box is long gone now and control taken over from a new Centre not too far away on the site of the old carriage sidings.

What is meant by the Turkey Yard? Top photo second from the right.

I'm sure it was the site of the Turkey Dye Company yard.

The old Cowlairs Station signalbox here in this unknown photographer's shot of D11 Director 62672 Baron of Bradwardine passing in the 1950s with the 4.13pm from Queen Street to Thornton.
