Did they run with two engines on the coast, I was a bit young in the sixties Born 1951 but I aways seem to remember the Arran train arriving in St Enoch with the engine pulling in front, and when you got to Ardrossan or Farlie the engine was pulling in front, so did they just change engines when they reached their destnation ? if so it must have been an art to keep up.

The same loco would run round its train at Ardrossan for the return journey unless a fresh loco was provided.
