BRITANNIC 1930: Harland and Wolff, Belfast

Post by Deepol » Tue Jan 26, 2016 1:40 pm

Last ship to carry White Star Line colours she was completed in June 1930 and retained her original colours even after the merger of White star with Cunard as a condition of the completion of No.534 at Clydebank.
BRITANNIC served until 1960 and was scrapped by Ward's at Inverkeithing where she arrived on December 19th.

A postcard I've had since the late 1950s from an American friend of my late mother's who travelled home on her in the late 1950s when she deputised for Queen Mary I think on overhaul.
