One of a series of general cargo ships built at the time for BI she was completed at the old Redhead yard at South Shields in November 1969.
Under P&O's Corporate Scheme in 1976 she became STRATHCARRON and on sale in 1979 HALLA PRIDE. As HYUNDAI No.33 she was scrapped at Ulsan in July 1985.

Her predecessor, a passenger/ cargo liner built by Swan Hunter's in 1938. She served until 1965 when she arrived at Keelung on 2nd December for scrapping.
