Post by Deepol » Wed May 29, 2013 12:36 pm

One of the Three Graces, AMAZON and her sisters ARAGON and ARLANZA were built by Harland and Wolff at Belfast, AMAZON being completed on December 31st 1959.
She served Royal Mail till 1968 when she transferred over to Shaw Savill becoming AKAROA. In 1971 she was sold to Norwegian owner Ugland, renamed AKARITA and converted out of all recognition to a car carrier and in 1977 renamed HUAL AKARITA. She later reverted to AKARITA and was scrapped at Kaohsiung in December 1981.
