Arriving from Amsterdam this morning with parts of a decommissioned rig for dismantle at Swans, Wallsend. Stern first up the river with local tugs Yarm Cross and Svitzer Lyndhurst.

Arriving from Stavanger this morning to berthat Swans, Wallsend. The barge will be brought down river to McNulty's, South Shields next week to load a module. Tug sailed as soon as barge was made secure.

And another one bites the dust. HMS Chatham arriving this afternoon for Northumbrian Quay, North Shields. She was launched from Swans, Wallsend yard 20.01.88 and arrives back on the Tyne exactly 23 years later. She will be de-commissioned at Portsmouth in February.
HMS Lion was built by Scotts of Greenock in 1944, work was stopped in 1946 and she was completed at Swans on the Tyne in 1960. Try as i have i've been unable to find out when she arrived on the Tyne, any help much appreciated.
British Premier was built by Palmers, Jarrow in 1922. She was sunk by U-68 on 24.12.1940 while part of convoy SLS-60 from Abadan to Swansea. 1913 Hawthorn Leslies, Hebburn build Lycaon. Launched 08.04.1913 for A.Holt & Co. and stayed with them till she was sold to Glen Line in 1951 and named Gleniffer. She was broken up at Faslane the following year arriving 11.07.1952.
