leaves at 1430hrs, Waverley website indicating this is a sell-out cruise.

Dropped anchor around 0630hrs BST this morning, 1.5 mile off-shore, 10 miles east of Whitstable.

Destination now changed from Whitstable to London Anchorage.

After what appears to have been a full day’s cruising, PS WAVERLEY departed Portsmouth at 2019hrs tonight.

Destination is showing as Whitstable in Kent, ETA 1230hrs tomorrow.

Currently passing Eastbourne making a healthy 16 knots, winds in the area are north-westerly, 12-14 knots.

Tonight, en route from Weymouth to Southampton, Marine Traffic indicates a speed at one point of 18.5 knots, as she rounds the north-east corner of the Isle of Wight?

Every confidence in PS WAVERLEY, westerly winds at 23 knots no doubt helping but.... is that a technical clitch?

Safely moored in Weymouth Harbour, arrived there 1100hrs this morning.

Waverley Website advising that sailings from Liverpool and Llandudno (Tuesday and Wednesday this week) have been cancelled, citing insufficient time to complete repairs.

Let’s hope it’s only these two days that are affected.

Hmmm….. BATTLER and BRUISER now departed, heading down-river passing the Renfrew Ferry both doing around 10 knots. CMS WARRIOR has remained in KGV, and now appears to be assisting NACC POROS depart KGV.

Would appear the first task was to return the (now empty) barge to BAE Systems Govan yard, now completed – the two tugs are currently at the far end of KGV, presumably setting up the tow of HMS MEDWAY.

BATTLER now returning down-river, having spent about 90 minutes in KGV Dock.

I suspect she was assisting with sinking the barge and floating off HMS MEDWAY, ready for towing down to Scotstoun tomorrow - see post by bgoutcher in seperate thread HMS MEDWAY.

All three tugs now well down-river, heading back to Greenock.

What happened? Well, either nothing or the barge carrying HMS MEDWAY was for some reason moved into KGV Dock?

Right – cancel above references to “moving the barge” – CMS WARRIOR turned into KGV Dock and headed all the way on up to NACC POROS – BRUISER remains at the entrance to the dock.

Looks like the next visitor to the upper Clyde will be NACC POROS – cement carrier registered Malta, last port Chatham, due in 0700hrs tomorrow 20th August – currently just past due east of the Isle of Man.

ANDANTE departed Shieldhall this morning around 0500hrs BST – needless to say, didn’t get to Renfrew to see her.

Destination showing as Mo i Rana in Norway with an ETA of Sunday 20th August, she is currently passing south of Arran and heading to round the Mull of Kintyre.

Would agree, nice to see ships passing each other – however, don’t think it’ll happen on the Clyde. From Erskine bridge up-river, the physical width of the river precludes such a manoeuvre.
