Oops, slight misjudgement - appears to have been moving "at anchor" - has certainly covered a few miles since first anchoring on 9th October.....

Departed Bangor Anchorage at 1600hr BST, currently round 18 miles due west of Stranraer and making 11.5 knots. Had a look at the weather forecast - don't see her moving out of Bangor until at least mid/late-afternoon tomorrow - 25/26 knot southerly winds will dominate before that. Hopefully the weather window will remain open long enough for her to complete the (approx.) 110 nautical miles back to the Scienc...

PS WAVERLEY departed Fishguard this morning around 0800hrs BST, destination Bangor (NI) ETA 22.45hrs tonight. Average speed so far is around 12 knots.

Needless to say, WEL website advises tomorrow’s sailings are cancelled.

Waverley website now putting up a caveat for Sunday –

Please note the Captain is watching the weather forecast and passengers should check sailing status before travelling.

Thanks for the info re Cardigan Bay Alasdair, wasn’t aware of it.

However, can advise that the Waverley website is now advising that Saturday’s cruise will not operate “as the ship has not been able to reposition in time due to weather conditions”.

Last recorded on Marine Traffic – 21 minutes ago (AIS switched off?) - heading 79 degrees, appears to be heading for Fishguard.

Okay, within the last 15 minutes her course has change from due north to north-west – appears to be following the coastline.

However, opens the question of an over-night stay in Fishguard?

PS WAVERLEY departed Weymouth tonight at 2133hrs, ETA Glasgow 1900hrs Friday. Looks like PS WAVERLEY “not going out” today – still showing as alongside at Weymouth.

Given the current weather conditions in the area of 20-knot SW winds, increasing to 25 knots by tomorrow, seems unlikely she will depart Weymouth any time soon.

A quick heads-up – tugs CMS WARRIOR and BRUISER already up at KGV Dock, with AYTON CROSS and SVITZER MILFORD just passing Renfrew/Yoker Ferry to join them.

No doubt the exodus will start soon, pity about the weather……..

Agreed, an extraordinarily large number of warships in KGV dock. Joint Warrior 172, scheduled for 1st to 13th October, the second of a biennial exercise which has been taking place for a number of years, always brings warships from many countries to our river. Dropped anchor around 0630hrs BST this morning, 1.5 mile off-shore, 10 miles east of Whitstable.

Destination now changed from Whitstable to London Anchorage.

After what appears to have been a full day’s cruising, PS WAVERLEY departed Portsmouth at 2019hrs tonight.

Destination is showing as Whitstable in Kent, ETA 1230hrs tomorrow.

Currently passing Eastbourne making a healthy 16 knots, winds in the area are north-westerly, 12-14 knots.

Tonight, en route from Weymouth to Southampton, Marine Traffic indicates a speed at one point of 18.5 knots, as she rounds the north-east corner of the Isle of Wight?

Every confidence in PS WAVERLEY, westerly winds at 23 knots no doubt helping but.... is that a technical clitch?

Safely moored in Weymouth Harbour, arrived there 1100hrs this morning.

Waverley Website advising that sailings from Liverpool and Llandudno (Tuesday and Wednesday this week) have been cancelled, citing insufficient time to complete repairs.

Let’s hope it’s only these two days that are affected.

Hmmm….. BATTLER and BRUISER now departed, heading down-river passing the Renfrew Ferry both doing around 10 knots. CMS WARRIOR has remained in KGV, and now appears to be assisting NACC POROS depart KGV.

Would appear the first task was to return the (now empty) barge to BAE Systems Govan yard, now completed – the two tugs are currently at the far end of KGV, presumably setting up the tow of HMS MEDWAY.

BATTLER now returning down-river, having spent about 90 minutes in KGV Dock.

I suspect she was assisting with sinking the barge and floating off HMS MEDWAY, ready for towing down to Scotstoun tomorrow - see post by bgoutcher in seperate thread HMS MEDWAY.
