Pleased to see that this event is moving to a west coast location. It will be in Greenock Town Hall on 2 September.

Re: SVITZER EXPERIENCE

I don't think Svitzer bought this tug so she was not "sold" back to the owner on 1/6/17. She was simply re-delivered.

Lloyd's Register says 3560kW, not 3560bhp. LR also says 4840bhp.

Furthermore, it notes her name as COWRIE COVE until 2002.

Re: PB PLENTY

Smit Lamnalco still owns all the tugs Svitzer just charters a few of them. The date is July 06, 2015 under the SL name. I have a photo of her in SL colours and named PB PLENTY at Newcastle on 29 December 2015. The only way of knowing exactly is to see the ship's registration papers. I still suspect...

John Wilson photographed her as SL Plenty ;
Interesting!! It would be useful to know the date of the photograph. It could be that the name was applied to the ship unofficially, or in error.

Re: SOCO

Once again, details in Lloyd's Register are different. Like the NIZAO, LR says that the SOCO was built at the Pirlant shipyard in Tuzla, and has Z-peller units. It also says that she was completed as ULUPINAR VIII.

Re: PB PLENTY

There is no evidence that she has ever been named SL PLENTY. According to Equasis, she is still named PB PLENTY - and she was certainly named thus in late 2016. Lloyd's Register also notes that she has always been named PB PLENTY.

Prior to that her name had officially been BJÖRN AF GÖTEBORG.

Sorry but I do not understand this. Surely she was chartered as SVITZER NANNA from 2007 to 2010. You seem to suggest that her charter name was STEVNS ICECAP.

Does anyone have any information about this tug built in Bristol in the early 1980s and working there as MAINSCREW? She was seen as OWL TUG in the Glasgow area about 10 years ago.

Is the Smit Humber a firefighting tug? Although sister tug Smit Loire certainly is, there is no reference to fifi equipment for Smit Humber either on the company's specification sheet or in Lloyd's Register. The photographs show no evidence of fifi monitors.
