Watch out for the small warship moving from Fairfileds basin down to the old Yarrow yard at Scotstoun,(across from Braehead)
She has been loaded onto a barge already so move must be pretty soon

Think that will be D & W Henderson yard or the old 'Anchor Line' as we called it as weans. A & J Inglis was more in the River Kelvin.

Was on board today. We spent 15/20mins extra time taking on water in Greenock. then at Largs after the new passengers had boarded it was announced that Dunoon and Cruise were cancelled because of a boiler problem. Rare visitor for central Glasgow was the JUPITER making her way upriver to berth at the east side of Yorkhill basin.
Also a rare event to have a visit from another passenger ship ANASTASIS berthed on the west side of the basin

Here is a shot taken on board KGV as she leaves Bangor, Northern Ireland on that Ayr/Bangor trip arranged by Paul Clegg. After arrival at Bangor she did a run back across towards Portpatrick. Great dat out...started very misty but came away lovely.

From a time when there were regular Easten European visitors into King George V Dock for crew changes and replenishing of store. Glasgow airport nice and handy and then off to sea again..
