It now looks as if Norwegian Spirit is not making her two Iceland calls at all. Marine Traffic is showing her as on passage from Alesund to GOT.

Viking Ocean Cruises' Viking Sun is calling at Greenock on Friday. She should have been in Holyhead that day.

She arrives from Liverpool around 8.00am and sails for Belfast at about 6.00pm.

She is on the first sector of a 245 day Ultimate World Cruise visiting 53 countries!

She arrived in Leith yesterday in support of the Royal Navy at the Edinburgh Tattoo.

I saw her this afternoon but it doesn't look like she will be open to the public at any point during her visit, which lasts until 22 August.

You'll need to be quick as she leaves the fleet next year after the second new-build, Spirit of Adventure enters service.

I saw her tonight passing Holy Isle outbound and then caught a bus to Whiting Bay to obtain a better view of her. I believe she is in fact heading for Torshavn, Faroe Islands.

She was sold to Chinese buyers last July and leaves the P&O fleet in August after her final P&O Cruise.

The Babcock boiler hasn't really lasted all that long considering the vessel is not in service between mid October and April/May. Maybe we should also be looking for a contribution from the manufacturer?

Timings have changed.

She is now expected at 7.00am GOT and will depart at 11.00pm.

She leaves the Holland America fleet on 1 July this year, so this is her last visit to the Clyde flying the HAL house flag.

The ship's name and Italian colours below it have been moved lower down the hull at the bow and I noticed this afternoon that the original embossed name at the bow has as a result been painted over in white.
Probably not a lot of people know that!

Astoria happens to be Ship of the Month in the May 2019 issue of Ships Monthly. However, they have put the wrong Astoria picture on the front cover. Definitely a case of what's on the box isn't what's in the box, as they sort of used to say at Kelloggs.

As I was passing this afternoon, there was an exercise in progress. Fire hoses were activated and water sprayed into the river at the aft end. Then, one of the rigid inflatables was lowered into the river with three occupants all kitted out and they proceeded to recover small fenders from the river....
